Waste not, want not is an extensive demonstration on various methods and techniques of furniture restoration by business owner and restorer Edwin Fox. His small and independent furniture restoration business open its doors for the first time to offer insight into the world of all things old, rusty and mid-century. With an ever growing interest and emphasis on the topic of reuse, repair and sustainability, there has never been a greater time to invest into the future: up-skill, re-think and re-educate. We often ask ourselves the questions, how can I make a better world? Or, can I save that chair on the side of the road?

Edwin Fox is hosting a three-hour workshop demonstration over two identical sessions in restoring vintage, retro and mid-century furniture. Edwin wants to share, encourage and educate anyone who has an interest in furniture, restoration, design and history. Within the workshop session, a variety of methods, skills, tips and materials are demonstrated to show participants how to restore certain pieces of furniture. Included in the demonstration:

• Is an introduction into furniture, design, history & construction
• Timber restoration, including stripping back, applying oil, repairs & re-finishing
• Basic upholstery such as creating a padded seat, webbing, foam and top cover fabric application
• General timber care and waxing methods
