SAY IT LOUD NAARM MELBOURNE 2022 Past Event
Presented by Beyond the Built Environment (BBE), Culture as Creative, Sandra Githinji and Australian Institute of Architects (AIA)
As practitioners in the built environment, we have the power to represent more than ourselves and representation is quintessential to achieving equitable diversity.” Pascale Sablan
Founded in New York, SAY IT LOUD is an exhibition that cultivates and elevates the work of women and diverse designers, raising the visibility of their contributions to the built environment.
The SAY IT LOUD Naarm Melbourne 2022 exhibition will showcase projects from a shortlist of BIPOC (he, she, they) and women (of any ethnicity) designers, across multiple disciplines in the built environment i.e. Architecture, Interior Design, Furniture & Object Design, Urban Planning and more. The projects exhibited will meet broad and inclusive definitions of design excellence and reflect a strong sense of place, history, and purpose.
With 24 exhibitions held to date, SAY IT LOUD Naarm is the first iteration in Australia.
SAY IT LOUD Naarm Melbourne 2022 is curated by Pascale Sablan, Founder & Executive Director of Beyond The Built Environment; Kholisile Dhliwayo, Founder of Culture as Creative and AfrOURban; and Sandra Githinji, Creative Director at Sandra Githinji Studio.
