Collectivity Talks: Art in design panel discussion Past Event

Presented by Communications Collective

As part of Melbourne Design Week 2022, join us for a special panel discussion between three industry professionals in the Architecture, Interior Design and Art space. Panelists include Director of Technē Architecture + Interior Design, Nick Travers; Artist, Naomi Troski; and Art Advisor, Sophie Ullin.

Our panelists will share their unique experiences and perspectives in a compelling panel discussion about the world of art creation and curation, while exploring its relationship with architecture and interior design projects.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view the ‘Modulations’ installation, a collaboration between Technē Architecture +  Interior Design and Naomi Troski. This multi-level display of artworks explores the subtle changes in form and colour expressed through the movement of natural light.

Collectivity Talks is an event series run independently by Communications Collective. Through these events, we strive to deepen our understanding of the world around us as we believe it to be a vital pursuit in our mission to remain at the forefront of thought leadership and our profession.

Drinks and nibbles on entry. Panel discussion will begin at 6:30pm.

Participants

Nick Travers - Director of Techne Architecture + Interior Design

Nick Travers is driven to innovate and meet challenges head on. Nick thrives on the complexity of the architect’s role, and is stimulated by a thorough discourse around the philosophical and practical elements of his discipline. Through sharp examination he decisively pushes Technē to reach the highest possible level for his team, partners, and clients.

In his role as Technē Director, Nick knows the best design occurs when ideas are challenged and shaped collaboratively. Over Technē’s 20 years, this belief has formed the cornerstone of the studio’s culture and is evident in each project.

Naomi Troski - Artist

Naomi Troski is a Melbourne-based artist who has exhibited in Australia and overseas. Her work is based on observational responses to nature where subtle perceived shifts of colour and light, shape and shadow, form and texture are expressed through the use of different media.

Sophie Ullin - Art Advisor

Sophie Ullin is recognised in the art industry for her extensive knowledge of the art market fuelled in part through her leadership roles in galleries and auction houses. For two decades Sophie’s art advisory has been instrumental in forming significant, complex and nuanced private collections of art with works sought for loans by public institutions.
