For their inaugural product launch, THOMAS MAXAM present BRICKS. A brick is a material belonging to place. A condensation of earth, wind, water, and fire culminating to create surface and form to embody elegance from the simplest of elements. BRICKS is a collection of slow poured, pressed glass luminaires which emulate the form of traditional Australian house brick.
The exhibition emotes familiarity from the recognition of the simple house brick, and challenges you to consider the overall elegance that is achieved within an entire architectural structure. A brick is usually considered as part of a whole, and is a symbol for wealth, technological advancement, and traditional craft. BRICKS are presented as part of a holistic interior, incorporated amongst complimentary textured surfaces, but also radiates a simple elegance deserving of signature attention as a stand alone piece. The exhibited collection will be presented at 122 Gertrude Street and showcase the utility of BRICKS as it is presented in various lighting solutions.

THOMAS MAXAM is a Melbourne (Naarm) based design studio, defined by an inquisitive exploration into material. Their step into the interior landscape has led them to create a range of homewares which are stocked around the world. With a slightly twisted, tongue in cheek approach to design, they allow themselves to express their creativty without any reservations.
