Since 1976, the Australian Tapestry Workshop (ATW) has built a worldwide reputation for the creation of contemporary tapestries in collaboration with living artists and architects. Over 45 years we have woven more than 500 tapestries – these now hang proudly in significant public and private collections nationally and internationally.

We are unique to Australia, and one of only a few workshops remaining in the world dedicated to hand-weaving contemporary tapestries. In creative partnerships, contemporary artists and architects working in a broad scope of art forms, challenge our tapestry weavers to experiment with interpretation, colour and technique as well as work with our specialist dyer to create new yarn tones. Tapestries known for their vibrancy and technical accomplishment are our hallmark and have established our position as a centre of excellence and innovation.
