The Melbourne Design Fair showcases the best collectible contemporary design from over 100 Australian designers and makers with presentations staged by leading commercial galleries, studios, design organisations, and agencies in addition to a highlight exhibition of works for sale curated by the NGV department of Contemporary Design and Architecture.

An initiative of the NGV presented in collaboration with the Melbourne Art Foundation, the Melbourne Design Fair is the first of its kind in Australia, breaking new ground in the presentation, promotion, and sale of collectible contemporary design in the region. It is an opportunity to discover and buy limited edition, rare and one-of-a-kind collectible contemporary design.

Occurring over five days from 16 to 20 March at Warehouse 16 at 28 Duke Street in Abbotsford, the Fair offers an unrivalled opportunity to explore the creativity of Australian designers whose functional objects delight, challenge and inspire us to think differently about the rituals of everyday life and the ideas, materials and making they employ.

The Fair is a unique cultural experience for public audiences and welcomes design and art collectors, enthusiasts, and interior designers to experience a fair intended to stimulate long-term interest in the collection of contemporary design.

The Melbourne Design Fair Conversations, presented by major partner Mercedes-Benz Australia on 20 March from 11am – 4pm, aims to broaden awareness of the contemporary collectable design scene in Australia and internationally.
