Improper Structures revisits everyday objects within interior spaces. Eight contemporary makers working across ceramic, textile, furniture and glass disciplines eschew notions of pure functionality to engender connection, play, intimacy, comfort and reward. Works illustrate a fluidity between artistic expression and domestic life: material mutations, simple pleasures, hybrid forms, and narrative disruptions rule our domain.
