The Melbourne School of Design x Museums & Collections

The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, incorporating the Melbourne School of Design (MSD), is a creative and people-oriented built environment faculty in Australia’s leading research-intensive university, The University of Melbourne.

The Museums & Collections department ensures connection and alignment with the University’s Cultural Commons strategy. The department is responsible for Buxton Contemporary, Grainger Museum, Ian Potter Museum of Art, Old Quadrangle Treasury and Science Gallery Melbourne.

For the first time, MSD and Museums & Collections will be collaborating on the Festival of Publicness, a series of events and activations for Melbourne Design Week, including workshops, multimedia and displays, culminating in a day-long program of talks. The Festival of Publicness is presented against a backdrop of exhibitions taking place at galleries and museums across Parkville campus, curated by MSD and Museums & Collections.
