MENTAL – agency and collaboration towards a better future

MENTAL – Agency and Collaboration Towards a Better Future Past Event

Presented by Melbourne Connect

Presented by Science Gallery Melbourne as part exhibition, part experiment, MENTAL is a welcoming place to confront societal bias and stereotypes around mental health. Join this special session to hear about the development of the show from Head Curator Tilly Boleyn, accompanied by a highlights tour of select works from one of Science Gallery’s extraordinary mediator team. MENTAL presents over 20 experimental projects from local and international artists and research collaborators that reflect a range of different perspectives on mental health and ways of being. Curated in collaboration with a team of young people with input from experts and academics across the sciences and creative arts, lived experience has been centred as expertise in navigating a theme that matters more than ever. Touching on key themes of the show – connection, agency, reflection, polyphony – the tour will cover ways collaboration could create a better and healthier future. Will your perspective be shifted about yourself and others? Head inside to celebrate the diversity of experiences, approaches and connections.
