Collage Imaginings

Make+Change Past Event

Presented by Dr Olivia Hamilton and Dr Andy Miller

What is the future of Melbourne? How can we better share our spaces with each other and the non-human world? What are the possibilities for changing urban environments post-pandemic? Explore design visualisation processes to imagine new worlds in a creative collage and design processes workshop.

The facilitators will introduce you to exciting DIY public spatial design strategies, ideas of commoning, political art practice, contemporary ecological thought from around the world and show you how to imagine and visualise new spatial urban propositions through making your own image.

During the 3-hour workshop, you will be guided by the facilitators to copy, cut, rip, tear, arrange, re-arrange, compose, glue, draw, write using supplied images, markers, and text over a large-scale photograph of a CBD site to create a new re-imagined ecological city. You will be guided through all aspects of practical and conceptual techniques for using design thinking and processes.
