This is a hackathon-style competition with the aim of equipping students with the skills needed to develop an idea for a startup. Students will be taken through workshops on various concepts around design thinking and human-centered design. In groups, they will be given the chance to put these into practice to firstly validate and define a problem that they want to solve, and subsequently ideate and develop solutions that would tackle this problem. Students will also be given various workshops around other relevant concepts such as business model development. Throughout the program, students will be mentored by industry reps from the startup ecosystem. To conclude, teams will be given the opportunity to pitch their solutions to a panel of judges, with winning team receiving a small funding and mentorship to potentially take their idea further.
